BUILT AROUND WHAT COMES NEXT

MiTek technology is embedded throughout the Inotek Melbourne manufacturing facility, supporting the design and production of our roof trusses, wall frames, floor systems and Posi-Joists.

Inotek Timber Systems manufactures timber building systems from our Melbourne facility, including roof trusses, wall frames, floor systems and Posi-Joists for builders and projects across Victoria.

As the construction industry changes, so does what we can offer. The addition of Pro9 Vic has expanded our capability into fully prefabricated wall systems, bringing together off-site manufacturing, insulation and factory-installed windows in a complete wall system ready for installation on site.

Supporting that growth is our long-standing focus on technology, manufacturing and the right industry partnerships.

A big part of what we do at Inotek is made possible by the technology, expertise and support behind us. Our partnership with MiTek gives our team access to the machinery, software, engineering and technical support that underpin our manufacturing operation and help us continue to grow.

With builders facing rising costs, labour shortages and tighter construction programs, that capability has never been more important.

For Inotek, the focus is on continuing to find better ways to design, manufacture and deliver building systems, from the timber components we manufacture every day through to the next generation of prefabricated construction.

And MiTek is an important part of making that possible.

INVESTING IN SMARTER MANUFACTURING

MiTek technology is embedded throughout our Melbourne manufacturing facility, supporting the design and production of our roof trusses, wall frames, floor systems and Posi-Joists.

Automation helps our team manufacture with accuracy and consistency, while improving efficiency across the factory.

The investment also gives us greater capacity as project requirements grow and change. Better coordination between design and production, less manual handling, reduced waste and strong quality control all contribute to a more efficient manufacturing process.

For our customers, that means a more capable manufacturing partner behind their projects.

TECHNOLOGY THAT EXPANDS WHAT WE CAN DELIVER

Technology is only valuable if it improves what we can actually deliver.

By connecting design, engineering and manufacturing, we can coordinate more of a building before it reaches site and find better ways to manufacture individual components as part of a complete building system.

This is becoming increasingly important as prefabrication and Modern Methods of Construction become a bigger part of the industry.

We’re already seeing that shift within our own factory.

Alongside our traditional timber frame and truss manufacturing, Pro9 Vic fully prefabricated wall systems are manufactured here in Melbourne, arriving on site insulated, with windows installed and ready for installation.

It’s all part of the same direction for Inotek: manufacturing more efficiently, improving coordination and helping give builders greater certainty on site.

MORE THAN TECHNOLOGY

Our relationship with MiTek goes well beyond the machinery and software.

As Inotek Managing Director Ian Ashby explains:

“We transitioned to MiTek over two years ago, and the support we received was phenomenal.”

For Ian, the strength of the relationship comes from MiTek taking the time to understand the Inotek business.

“Partnership is more than being a supplier or a customer. It is about understanding each other’s business. MiTek took the time to understand ours – and that has made all the difference.”

That ongoing access to engineering expertise, technical support and training helps our team get more from the technology we have invested in and continue improving the way we operate.

MAKING INNOVATION PRACTICAL

Innovation needs to have a practical outcome.

It might mean reducing manual handling on the factory floor, improving consistency, minimising waste or finding ways to manufacture more of a building in a controlled factory environment.

It might also mean giving a builder greater certainty around what is arriving on site and when.

These are practical improvements, but together they can make a significant difference to the way a project is delivered.

As we continue investing in automation, connected design and prefabrication, the focus remains on making our manufacturing process better and delivering real benefits to the builders and projects we support.

BUILT IN MELBOURNE FOR WHAT’S NEXT.

Walk through our Melbourne factory and there’s plenty happening.

Timber is being cut and sorted. MiTek machinery is running. Posi-Joists, wall frames and roof trusses are moving through production and being prepared for delivery.

In the same facility, fully insulated Pro9 Vic wall systems are being manufactured and loaded into racks, ready to head to site.

Behind it all is our team, coordinating projects and keeping production moving.

Construction will continue to change, and so will the technology and manufacturing methods behind it. Our focus is on continuing to invest in the people, equipment and partnerships that keep Inotek moving with it.

We’re building for the projects in production today, while making sure we have the capability to take on what comes next.
