Inotek x Pro9: Framing the Future of Victorian Housing

Updated: 3 days ago

Inotek x Pro9 recently delivered the launch installation of our prefabricated wall system in Deanside.Within hours, the structure of a medium-density home was standing tall. What once took weeks was completed in a single morning.

This project proves that modern methods of construction (MMC) are no longer a distant idea. They are here, practical, and ready to solve some of Victoria’s biggest housing challenges.

At the Deanside site, speed did not come at the expense of quality. Each wall panel was manufactured off-site under controlled conditions before being transported and installed with millimetre-perfect accuracy.

The system uses 90 mm frames, magnesium sulphate external board with base coat of render, PU insulation, and windows built in, achieving an impressive R4.6 thermal rating and supporting a 7-star energy outcome with single-glazed windows.

This level of performance shows how factory precision can enhance on-site delivery. Less time on site means fewer disruptions, less waste, and greater predictability for builders and developers.

MMC is a smarter way to build. Instead of relying entirely on on-site labour and weather conditions, much of the construction process moves into a factory environment. Wall systems, roof panels and structural frames are prefabricated using digital modelling and advanced materials, then assembled on-site in a fraction of the time.

The benefits extend across the entire housing supply chain:

  • Efficiency: Faster build times and reduced downtime.

  • Consistency: Factory-controlled production ensures every component is identical in quality.

  • Sustainability: Less waste, lower emissions and high-performing thermal systems.

  • Scalability: MMC can be replicated across single homes, medium-density projects and community housing.

For Victoria, MMC represents a direct path to meeting housing demand while improving long-term sustainability outcomes.

Building Confidence in MMC

Every successful project helps shift perception. The Deanside installation shows that MMC is the evolution of construction. As regulation, technology and industry appetite continue to align, systems like the Inotek x Pro9 prefabricated wall solution will become part of standard practice across Victoria.

With proven efficiency, measurable performance and scalable production, this approach offers builders and developers a practical way forward.

The Deanside project is just the beginning, proof that when innovation meets precision, the way we build can change for good.

If you’re looking to step into the world of MMC with confidence, backed by real results, our team is here to walk you through the process.
